On 28 September 2011 the Ping River in Chiang Mai, Thailand began overflowing its banks causing flooding in parts of the city and province.

Thailand has seen a second pair of twin baby elephants born in a year.
The first pair of twins was males, born in captivity in March.
And the latest ones are females born on October 8th in an elephant nature park in northern Chiang Mai Province.
